Electronic Arts has announced Dragon Age 3 Inquisition, the next chapter in the very successful RPG Dragon Age franchise. The franchise, which launched in 2009 with Dragon Age: Origins followed by Dragon Age II in 2011 which, has sold over 8 million copies along with extensions into novels, an animated film, comic books and Dragon Age collectibles. .
According to Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of BioWare Edmonton and BioWare Montreal, work on Dragon Age 3: Inquisition has been going on for almost two years now.
As its predecessors, Dragon Age 3 Inquisition will be focused on deep RPG gameplay and will be built on EA’s Frostbite 2 engine. Frostbite 2 Engine also powers other first-person shooters such as Battlefield 3 and Medal of Honor: Warfighter. With Frostbite 2, the developers will be able to create a very powerful and interactive gameplay for Dragon Age an even more expansive world, extremely rich visuals, higher responsiveness, and more customization options.
Update: The team has taken a conscious decision to not call it Dragon age 3: Inquisition but instead call it Dragon age : Inquisition. They felt that the game is an all new chapter in the Dragon Age saga as opposed to the storyline etc. from Dragon Age 1 and 2.
Dragon Age 3: Inquisition Release Date
Update: As per the updates from E3 expo this year, the game is scheduled to release in Fall 2014. The team at revealed this in E3, it is also part of the pretty kickass trailer that they released recently as well. You should be able to buy dragon age inquisition online soon.
The release date for both USA, UK and EU is speculated to be around the same time in fall 2014. We will update this post as soon as we have more on this. Earlier, the release date was scheduled to be around late 2013.
After initial uncertainties, it is not clear that Dragon Age Inquisition will be available for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 as well. The game will also be released for the PS4 and Xbox one as well. It is expected that the game releases simultaneously across platforms.
Dragon Age 3: Inquisition Preorder Bonus
The preorder bonuses for ‘Dragon Age 3: Inquisition’ hasn’t been announced yet. Given that the release date itself hasn’t been announced, preorder bonuses will take a bit of time.
We can expect preorder bonuses for different retailers like Amazon, BestBuy, Gamestop, Walmart etc. In all likelihood, it will be some special ingame content to enhance Dragon Age 3: Inquisition game play in the future.
